Overview

Homer Hsu focuses his practice on strategic patent counseling, infringement/invalidity analysis, U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and litigation support. Homer regularly works with inventors to look at next-generation products or new areas of technology to focus on and determine what kind of protection will be needed in order to expand their businesses.

Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Homer was a practicing patent attorney in Taiwan. He served as a trusted advisor to clients in a variety of industries on patent infringement disputes, intellectual property transactions, and international investment opportunities. While acting as an in-house counsel, Homer was involved in several transnational projects, including mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property due diligence, and alternative dispute resolutions.

Homer has experience with patent analysis and prosecution in a wide range of technologies, including electric vehicles, consumer electronics, computer software, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), semiconductor processing, LEDs, liquid crystal display (LCD) assemblies, cleantech/renewable energy, and medical devices.

In his pro bono practice, Homer volunteers at a naturalization clinic in Seattle, helping low-income applicants understand the process and fill out applications.
