Overview

Wei Yuan focuses on intellectual property matters with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has experience drafting pleadings for patent litigation at U.S. district courts; participating in inter partes review proceedings, including drafting petitions and patent owner’s responses; and conducting pre-filing patent infringement investigations. Wei has also managed patent portfolios and prosecuted patent applications in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions and provided opinions on freedom-to-operate, non-infringement, invalidity, and designing around.

Prior to earning his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, Wei worked as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and later as a patent agent for an international law firm. He also earned his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from The City University of New York.
