Overview

Tyler Robbins (he/him) assists clients with transactions and product counseling involving technology and intellectual property (IP). He counsels a broad range of clients, from startups to high-profile multinational enterprises, across industries and sectors, including artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), enterprise and open-source software, cloud services, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) platforms, autonomous vehicles, telecommunications, social media, media and entertainment, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. As a lawyer with an extensive technical background, particularly in ML and data science, Tyler is well-positioned to support clients in matters involving advanced and innovative technologies, where providing effective, practical advice often requires developing a deeper understanding of the client’s technology.

Tyler has experience drafting and negotiating a variety of sophisticated commercial agreements; terms of service; data licenses; and license agreements for software, data, and other IP. He also advises clients on technology and IP issues relating to new and existing products, strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other business transactions.

Tyler has an active pro bono practice that includes assisting public interest organizations in advocating for equitable access to the internet, providing IP-related advice and services to independent artists, and drafting and negotiating technology licensing agreements on behalf of nonprofit organizations.
