Overview

Associate Shelby Rampolo actively participates in the counseling of lobbying firms, corporations, and other entities on a spectrum of legal issues related to their ability to interact with and affect federal and state governments. These include federal employment bans, state and local lobbying laws, compliance with the Lobbying Disclosure Act, and state and local pay-to-play laws. Shelby also represents clients in congressional ethics investigations before the U.S. House Committee on Ethics and the Office of Congressional Ethics.

Shelby also has a background in business litigation, with experience assisting in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions practice, trial, and appeals. Shelby primarily focuses on breach-of-contract and trade secret litigation. Recently, Shelby assisted in obtaining an injunction to protect her client, a national financial planning company.

Shelby maintains a robust pro bono practice. She recently helped obtain a settlement for a nonprofit organization after city administrators violated the agency's First Amendment rights. She also successfully assisted a veteran in receiving a discharge upgrade, which created greater access to veteran resources. Currently, Shelby represents multiple asylum seekers in proceedings before the U.S. immigration courts.

While earning her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, Shelby interned for the Hon. Maribeth Raffinan of the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
