Overview

Marten King is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, where he was ranked fourth in a class of 159. He served on the Washington Law Review as an articles editor, participated on the the New York City Bar Moot Court Team, and received the Dean’s Medal and the Judge Eugene Wright Scholar Award.

Marten gained legal experience as a clerk for the Hon. John C. Coughenour of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, drafting orders, managing cases, and assisting with trials. He also served as an extern to Justice Mary Yu of the Washington Supreme Court, drafting memoranda and conducting legal research in preparation for oral argument, assisting in opinion writing, and advising the court regarding personal restraint petitions.

Marten previously worked for Perkins Coie as a summer associate. During that time, he composed legal memoranda for clients and supervising attorneys, drafted court filings, and helped clients prepare for depositions.
