Marcus Woo’s experience includes more than a decade of in-house legal roles, most recently as vice president and general counsel for a multinational, publicly traded company based in Taiwan. In this position, he oversaw the company’s litigation and licensing, patent prosecution and management, and mergers and acquisitions. He also managed its legal affairs in Europe, the Americas, and Chinese subsidiaries.
Prior to serving as general counsel, Marcus spent more than 20 years in private practice in New York, Taipei, and Beijing, handling intellectual property protection and management, technology licensing and transactions, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and dispute matters. He also assisted clients with legal and regulatory compliance issues involving antitrust and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and government procurement. As general counsel, and in private practice, his work emphasized technology, including telecommunications, information technology and electronics, and software, as well as aerospace, railroad equipment, and industrial and consumer products.
Marcus started his career in the United States, serving as an assistant district attorney for the city of New York.
