Overview

Kristin Lockhart assists clients with selecting and enforcing their brands. She advises clients on U.S. and international trademark and prosecution matters. She also assists clients with enforcement matters involving trademarks and related intellectual property claims, such as copyright infringement, false advertising, and unfair competition.

Kristin has represented clients in a broad range of industries, including the technology, telecommunications, government defense, entertainment, and fashion industries, and her focus is to provide practical legal advice that is centered around her clients’ business goals. She has represented clients at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and in federal court. She also provides advice for transactional matters, including the acquisition, transfer, license, and allocation of ownership of intellectual property assets.

While working on her J.D. in the American University Washington College of Law, Kristin was an editor for the American University Business Law Review. Prior to her career in private practice, she was a legal fellow for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the General Counsel, where she advised on trademark clearance and enforcement matters.
