Kiry Nelsen represents clients in complex purchase and sale transactions, commercial office leasing, project finance, and other matters related to commercial real estate. Her recent focus has been counseling clients on financing affordable housing projects that use low-income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, and equity investment. She has also managed several multiproperty portfolio acquisitions, drafted and negotiated office and headquarters leases for a range of clients, and maintains a consistent landlord-side leasing practice for large multitenant office buildings.
Kiry also works with clients in residential housing development, higher education, senior housing, forestry, agriculture, lending, and technology. She frequently provides advice regarding transaction structure and performs and manages due diligence. Kiry also has experience drafting and negotiating complex transaction documents related to condominiums, ground leases, and multiparty covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs).
Maintaining an active pro bono practice, Kiry assists with land acquisitions and project finance for nonprofit developers of affordable housing, as well as lease agreements for various nonprofit organizations.
