Overview

Justin Moon focuses his practice on complex intellectual property and technology transactions and licensing matters. In particular, Justin counsels some of the world’s largest technology companies and Fortune 100 clients, as well as mid-tier and emerging companies, on a wide range of digital transformation and cloud computing arrangements, from the infrastructure to application layer. He also advises on issues involving public, private, and hybrid cloud solutions; risk allocation; product counseling; and privacy and data security obligations.

Focused on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning into his clients’ products and services, Justin routinely handles technology licensing and distribution arrangements and the related legal and regulatory implications of such technologies. Justin’s technology counsel also extends to the Internet of Things (IoT), where he has helped clients with product rollouts and the contractual and regulatory challenges related to smart city infrastructure projects, smart home solutions, and platform and mobile applications.

Justin also frequently advises clients on the intellectual property, technology, and commercial aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, financings, and divestitures. Additionally, Justin has industry experience with enterprise and consumer software and services, including the use and distribution of open-source software, and has completed numerous transactions involving cloud storage, data analytics, and productivity solutions.

As part of his pro bono practice, Justin works on immigration matters and affirmative asylum cases. Justin also helps nonprofit entities seeking 501(c)(3) status and regularly advises them on a wide range of commercial agreements and related legal matters.
