Overview

Jeffrey Vanacore, a corporate bankruptcy attorney and commercial litigator, has nearly 20 years of experience focusing on a wide array of litigation (in both federal and state courts) and complex financial restructuring matters.

Jeffrey regularly represents clients in bankruptcy and restructuring matters and appears in bankruptcy courts throughout the nation. In addition to bankruptcy litigation, Jeffrey regularly litigates matters in the areas of privacy, intellectual property, class actions and breaches of fiduciary duties. Jeffrey is one of the few lawyers in the country who has obtained a full student loan discharge for a client. Jeffrey has argued complex bankruptcy appeals and has been published in the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal and other publications on various cutting-edge issues.

Jeffrey is a seasoned attorney who relishes designing solutions to prevent legal issues from impacting a client’s goals and solving them when and if they occur. Jeffrey’s problem-solving experience runs deep, from working as an automotive technician during high school (he is happy to answer any personal automotive related questions), developing and manufacturing controls for turbine engines for one of the world’s largest manufacturers of prime mover controls during his college years to finding creative and unique solutions as an attorney. Jeffrey’s background and education in manufacturing, tax and accounting helps him to understand not just the client’s legal issues, but its business as well. His clients often remark that when they considered who would best be able to handle unique legal issues or litigation, Jeffrey’s name routinely is at the top of the list. Jeffrey truly enjoys practicing law.

Jeffrey is a Certified Public Accountant (Illinois) and a former Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and previously worked in the tax-consulting department of a Big Four accounting firm. Jeffrey is also well versed in intellectual property matters and is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has litigated numerous intellectual property matters in both bankruptcy and district courts.
