Jeannil Boji is known for creatively navigating complicated workplace issues with effectiveness, addressing delicate employment matters before they become expensive or publicized problems. She focuses on avoiding litigation and minimizing exposure through early, proactive counseling; drafting and negotiating strategic agreements and policies; conducting trainings and investigations; and negotiating and resolving pre-litigation disputes involving highly sensitive and cutting-edge legal issues.
Jeannil advises on noncompete and trade secrets law; confidentiality, privacy and workplace technology; whistleblower and retaliation allegations; remote work and gig economy concerns; and the hiring, counseling, and termination of high-profile executives and employees. She routinely investigates potential trade secret and data theft incidents, including coordinating forensic device and system inspections, and implementing recovery and preservation protocols. Jeannil also handles sensitive workplace investigations and internal compliance issues.
Jeannil represents regularly advises operating companies, management companies, fund sponsors, boards of directors, and family offices and high-net-worth individuals on sensitive matters, such as executive and key-person hires and transitions, internal investigations, and strategic workforce planning. She also drafts and negotiates high-level executive agreements. With more than 18 years of experience, Jeannil brings deep knowledge of the financial services, technology, and private wealth industries, where she has litigated, arbitrated, and mediated disputes on a wide array of issues.
When litigation becomes unavoidable, Jeannil is a fierce litigator with experience in federal and state courts nationwide. She is highly skilled in obtaining and defending against injunctions involving noncompetition and other restrictive covenants, trade secret misappropriation, and unfair competition. She also litigates and mediates complex breach of contract and labor and employment disputes, including wage-and-hour class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), whistleblower retaliation, and discrimination and retaliation cases under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

Secured summary judgment dismissing former employee’s claims for breach of employment contract on behalf of client and permitted to proceed forward to trial with counterclaim for misappropriation of confidential information and breach of fiduciary duty claims against former employee.
InnerWorkings, Inc.
Represented InnerWorkings, Inc. in a noncompete case against a terminated employee who had sold their business to InnerWorkings and threatened to leave to begin working for a competitor.
Capstone Financial Advisors, Inc.
Represented Capstone Financial Advisors, Inc. in a suit against a former employee and new employer who stole confidential information and took customers to a competing business.
CDW LLC
Obtained preliminary injunction where the court found that CDW had demonstrated a likelihood of success on the merits with regard to their trade secret misappropriation, conspiracy to breach fiduciary duty and unfair competition claims. The court also concluded that the competitor tortiously interfered with valid restrictive covenants.
