Perkins Coie partner J Cabou and associate Nathan Christensen represent the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as amicus curiae before the U.S. Supreme Court.  Perkins Coie's brief urges the Court to grant certiorari to review the decision of the Fifth Circuit, which allowed two government witnesses in a criminal case -- one of them an expert -- to testify fully anonymously.  The Perkins Coie brief traces the history, purpose, and practice of the Confrontation Clause and concludes that the admission of such anonymous testimony is inconsistent with them all.  The case is Elashi v. United States, Docket No. 11-1390.
