Jamie Nicole Johnson represents emerging growth, privately-held and publicly traded companies. Jamie’s experience focuses on counseling companies from their earliest stages of growth through exit events, with an emphasis on emerging companies and venture capital. Her representation includes entity formation, fundraising and financings (friends & family, angel, venture capital, growth equity and strategic), strategic transactions, governance, mergers & acquisitions and other corporate legal issues. She also works with university spin-outs and regularly advises social entrepreneurs and social purpose entities.
Maintaining an active pro bono practice, Jamie works with nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations and volunteers at Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Communities Rise Microenterprise Legal clinics.
Jamie’s experience includes a diverse foundation of leadership within the firm and the community. She is an active member of Perkins Coie’s diversity and recruiting efforts and has served as a member of the firm’s 1L Diversity Hiring Committee, the Seattle office’s Diversity Committee, the Summer Associate Committee and served as the Co-chair of the firm’s LGBTQ+ Affinity Group. Outside of the office, Jamie is a regular speaker on diversity and inclusion and currently serves on the board of directors of QLaw, the LGBT Bar Association of Washington.
Jamie received her M.B.A. concurrent to receiving her J.D. Prior to law school, Jamie graduated from Seattle University where she was a NCAA Division I intercollegiate athlete on the women’s basketball team and attended the Albers School of Business and Economics.
