A seasoned intellectual property (IP) litigator, Jake focuses on trademark, copyright, and trade secret law in federal courts.

Jake Dini often represents clients in the gaming, technology, and retail industries in their IP matters. He implements programmatic IP enforcement initiatives to identify and address policy violations and other enforcement priorities. Jake also has extensive experience implementing and managing trademark and copyright enforcement programs, including Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown requests and domain name claims before the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) arbitration panel.

As a trusted adviser, Jake helps businesses protect their IP and maintain the integrity of their platforms. He designs and leads comprehensive enforcement programs that strategically safeguard clients' IP rights and prevent exploitation by bad actors. Additionally, Jake’s experience extends to general commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract disputes. 

Maintaining an active pro bono practice, Jake has successfully advocated for clients with their asylum and related immigration matters, advocating for clients in both state and federal court.

Bungie v. Aimjunkies 

U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington
Arbitration
Represented Bungie in a copyright infringement case involving the distribution of cheat code software for Bungie’s online game Destiny 2 in both arbitration and before a federal jury. The team secured a sweeping victory in both the arbitration and jury trial resulting in an award of more than $4.4 million in damages and fees and a permanent injunction. The arbitration award was affirmed by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Video Game Development Dispute

U.S. District Court for the Central District of California
Represented large video game studio in development dispute with sub-licensee. Favorably settled.

London Computer Sys., Inc. v. Zillow

U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio
After expedited discovery, defeated preliminary injunction motion in trademark infringement action involving RENTAL MANAGER trademark, resulting in settlement and dismissal.
