Gregory Logan, Ph.D.

Gregory’s practice centers on patent prosecution and portfolio counseling for clients in the life sciences sector, ranging from innovative start-ups to established biotechnology companies.

Dr. Gregory Logan brings extensive experience in patent prosecution and opinion work across a broad spectrum of technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, gene therapy, cell biology, neuroscience, and other life science disciplines.

Gregory regularly drafts and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications, and provides strategic counsel through patent landscape analyses, Freedom to Operate assessments, and patentability opinions. His experience encompasses technologies such as gene and cell therapies—including CRISPR-based platforms—immunotherapies (such as CAR T-cell therapies and vaccines), peptide therapies, RNA-based therapies, and pharmaceuticals. He has also prepared patent applications related to medical devices, agricultural products, sports equipment, and mechanical devices.

Before joining Perkins Coie, Gregory served as a patent agent and spent over a decade conducting research in molecular and cell biology laboratories. His scientific background includes research in cell biology, cancer biology, neuroscience, stem cells, and developmental biology, providing him with a deep understanding of the scientific and technical issues facing clients in the life sciences sector.
