Gabrielle (Gabby) Gurian is an associate in the firm's Real Estate & Land Use practice. Gabby focuses her practice on land use entitlements and zoning matters, including condemnation, environmental compliance, and real estate transactions. She assists developers, landowners, and public agencies in all aspects of project development, including permitting and regulatory compliance matters, pre-acquisition diligence, and drafting and negotiating key agreements necessary to mitigate risk and implement business objectives.
Prior to joining the firm, Gabby was an assistant attorney general in the Ecology Division of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. In that role, she represented the Washington State Department of Ecology in appeals arising under the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Shoreline Management Act (SMA), the Growth Management Act (GMA), and other environmental and land use regulations. She represented the agency through federal licensing proceedings and associated environmental reviews under the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). She also negotiated and drafted agreed orders and consent decrees for the development and cleanup of properties contaminated with hazardous substances under the state Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA).
In her active pro bono practice, Gabby represents clients seeking legal status under federal immigration laws.
