Veteran trial lawyer Craig Tyler has litigated more than 200 technical cases involving claims of patent infringement, copyright infringement, and trade secret misappropriation, including 19 trials in state and federal courts. He also has served as lead counsel in section 337 litigation before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) related to utility patent, design patent, trademark, and copyright claims.
Craig prioritizes understanding his clients, their businesses, and their legal and technical problems, focusing on finding the appropriate solution, which is not always litigation. Considered a trusted partner to the businesses he represents, he has earned deep loyalty from his clients for effectively handling complex, bet-the-company disputes. He has been lauded for his mastery of critical facts, strategic thinking, and thoughtful advice.
Uncommon among intellectual property (IP) litigators, Craig is comfortable litigating and trying disputes in state or federal courts. In addition to handling federal cases in dozens of jurisdictions, Craig has also handled state court actions involving trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and many other claims in state courts in Texas, California, Utah, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Florida. His extensive arbitration experience includes multiple complex arbitrations under AAA and JAMS. In addition, Craig's experience includes equal representation of plaintiffs and defendants in IP litigation.
Craig has litigated cases across the United States and represented clients in appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Texas Supreme Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
