Bhaskar Kakarla is an IP attorney with the firm's Intellectual Property practice with a focus in patent law.

Bhaskar has a background in electrical and mechanical engineering and has represented companies in IP matters encompassing a wide variety of technological areas, including consumer and industrial electronics, 3-D simulation (such as virtual and augmented simulation of welding environments), computer hardware and software, electro-hydraulic equipment and controls, vehicle telematics, fire suppression equipment and controls, and sporting goods (including golf balls and clubs).

Bhaskar has extensive litigation, patent prosecution and IP consulting experience representing both established and startup companies. Bhaskar’s experience includes working with companies to develop an IP portfolio strategy; drafting patent applications, prosecuting applications in the USPTO and foreign countries; managing ex partes and inter partes reexaminations and reissue applications; providing clearance, invalidity and infringement opinions; drafting pleadings and motions; developing infringement and invalidity charts; prepping and deposing witnesses; managing all aspects of discovery; and working with experts to develop litigation strategies and reports.
