Anna Mouw Thompson is a litigator and product counselor who focuses on privacy law. She regularly counsels clients across industries on issues arising under state and federal privacy and data protection laws, including laws addressing biometric data and the collection, use, disclosure and security of personal information. Anna also litigates in these areas, and has served on defense teams for clients facing multimillion-dollar class actions under the Illinois Biometric Privacy Act (BIPA) and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). She also assists clients in enforcing online terms of use.
In addition, Anna has experience drafting at the appellate level, and has assisted clients with appeals and amici curiae brief in matters involving novel issues of state and federal privacy law.
Anna earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan, where she spent a semester as an international fellow at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for Judge Richard C. Tallman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
