Alicia Matusheski counsels clients on a range of complex trademark issues, including the viability of trademarks and all aspects of the filing and maintenance process. Alicia has experience handling trademark searches, applications and responses to Office Actions from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and she efficiently manages clients’ domestic and international trademark portfolios. Her copyright law experience includes helping clients with the registration and recordation process with the U.S. Copyright Office, as well as assisting on agreements regarding the acquisition of copyrights, including intellectual property due diligence.
In the entertainment industry, Alicia advises clients in the music industry on a variety of matters in connection with the use and production of music, including drafting and negotiating recording agreements, distribution agreements, producer and mixer agreements, licensing agreements, music publishing agreements, and advising clients regarding issues with performing right organizations and collection societies (e.g. ASCAP, BMI, and SoundExchange). She has extensive experience managing the music business affairs of an international videogame company.
Alicia also counsels film and television clients on production and distribution matters, including distribution agreements, production agreements, licenses, rights and clearances issues, option agreements, and union and guild issues. She has experience managing the rights and clearances for the distribution arm of a well-known entertainment company.
