Nancy Cheng is a partner with the firm’s Patent Litigation practice. She has served as a core member of patent litigation teams that have secured victories for leading technology companies at various stages of dispute resolution: motion to dismiss, post Markman hearing, trial, and appeals. She is experienced in litigating patents in various fields, including semiconductor fabrication, network security, 3D memory, graphics, video encoding/decoding, and WiFi. Nancy has experience in various aspects of patent infringement cases, including e-discovery, invalidity and non-infringement defenses, expert witness depositions, Markman, and summary judgment. She has experience practicing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, as well as the U.S. International Trade Commission. Nancy has also appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to represent clients in inter partes reviews. She also has experience with litigation in the Beijing IP Court and the Beijing Higher People's Court. Nancy also maintains an active pro bono practice representing tenants in unlawful eviction cases and unaccompanied juvenile in asylum case.
Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Nancy spent over 13 years working for Intel Corporation in areas such as microprocessor design, network processor validation and digital home group validation.
