OVERVIEW

Mike Barrett, a partner in the firm's Real Estate & Land Use practice, has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of real estate finance (both debt and equity), restructurings, workouts, receiverships and foreclosures, as well as acquisitions and dispositions, leasing and real estate aspects of mergers and acquisitions. His clients have included entrepreneurs, investors, pension funds, commercial banks, investment banks, private funds, corporate owners of real estate, non-profits and governmental agencies.  His financing work has included the representation of lenders and borrowers in acquisition, development, construction and term financing, as well as unsecured corporate credits and synthetic leases and the representation of investors and developers in the formation of ventures for the development of office, apartment and mixed-use projects. He has handled or been involved in loan restructurings, workouts, receiverships, foreclosures and bankruptcies involving hotels, office buildings, shopping centers, mixed-use projects, multi-family projects and residential subdivisions.

Mike has represented clients in the development, purchase, sale and financing of raw land, office buildings, shopping centers, hotels, golf courses, resorts, marinas, bank branches, aviation-related properties, government facilities and portfolios of properties. He regularly represents landlords and tenants in office, industrial and retail leasing. He has worked on properties from the Pacific Northwest to Florida, New England to Southern California. His projects have ranged in size from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.
