OVERVIEW

Technology transactions attorney Matthew Ferry counsels clients in a variety of technologies, including life sciences, high technology, flash memory, software, satellite television, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and semiconductors. He regularly drafts and negotiates IP contracts, including license agreements, service agreements and material transfer agreements. In addition, Matt advises clients on intellectual property issues that arise in connection with larger corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. He also manages diligence reviews of target company contracts, focusing on IP issues and advises clients regarding potential risk.

Matt leverages both his IP litigation experience and broad technical knowledge to better service his clients. He is a patent lawyer who has litigated cases involving infringement, invalidity, and misappropriation, and has prosecuted patent applications. He also draws on his technical knowledge that he developed in his graduate work at the California Institute of Technology, including in physics, software, microwave instrumentation and optics.
