Overview

Lindsay Allen advises on U.S. and international trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, and enforcement matters. She also assists clients with copyright counseling, protection, and enforcement strategies.

A trusted counselor to clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations, Lindsay has experience in a wide variety of industries, including entertainment, social media, fashion, emerging technology, software, hardware, finance, pharmaceutical, politics, and higher education. She has represented clients at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), U.S. Copyright Office, National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and in federal court. Prior to entering private practice, Lindsay worked at a small legislative branch federal government agency, where she advised on intellectual property matters.

Lindsay has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star" in Washington, D.C. (2018 – 2022). An active member of leading intellectual property organizations, Lindsay currently serves on International Trademark Association's (INTA’s) Rights of Publicity Committee, and previously served as a trademark editor for Landslide Magazine, the ABA’s IP Law Section publication, as well as two terms on INTA’s Young Professionals Committee.

Maintaining an active pro bono practice, Lindsay primarily focuses on assisting Washington, D.C.’s homeless population with obtaining housing and disability benefits. She was recognized on the High Honor Roll for Pro Bono by the D.C. Bar (2018 – 2020). Lindsay currently serves as the co-chair of Perkins Coie’s Pro Bono Committee in the Washington, D.C., office. Under her leadership, the office was recognized by the D.C. Circuit Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services as having the highest percentage of lawyers in Washington, D.C., with 50 or more pro bono legal hours in 2018.
