Lindsay Allen focuses her practice on trademark and copyright counseling, enforcement, prosecution, and litigation matters and is a trusted counselor to clients in a wide variety of industries, including entertainment, technology, insurance, pharmaceutical and higher education. Lindsay has represented clients in federal court, at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and at the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau. She regularly advises clients on domestic and international trademark enforcement strategies and on copyright, advertising, and unfair competition matters, including conducting trademark searches and drafting clearance opinions. Prior to entering private practice, Lindsay worked in the Office of the General Counsel of the Congressional Budget Office, where she advised the agency on IP matters. Lindsay also has experience in copyright enforcement and litigation as a law clerk at Oppenheim + Zebrak LLP.
An active member of leading IP organizations, Lindsay currently serves as a Trademark Editor for Landslide Magazine, the ABA’s IP Law Section publication. In addition, she is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Trademark Litigation Committee and served two terms on the International Trademark Association’s Young Professionals Committee.
In her pro bono practice, Lindsay works with the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, where she assists on housing, Social Security and other matters, and the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, where she has handled copyright and right of publicity matters.
