Katherine T. LaBeau Associate



Political law attorney Katherine LaBeau advises tax-exempt organizations on a spectrum of tax, corporate and campaign finance matters. She assists nonprofit clients, including 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations, 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and 527 political organizations, navigate complex federal tax questions and understand the nuances of the Internal Revenue Code and IRS regulations. Katherine also guides clients through the process of obtaining federal tax-exempt status for their nonprofit organizations.

An additional part of Katherine’s practice involves counseling national political party committees on state and federal campaign finance laws and First Amendment issues. She also drafts, reviews and edits contracts between her political party clients and their outside vendors and consultants as part of her legal counsel related to daily operations.

Katherine is an active member of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation, Exempt Organizations Committee and the D.C. Bar Association Taxation Section.
