  • Represented thousands of indigent misdemeanor defendants seeking enforcement of their Sixth Amendment right to counsel in a Section 1983 class action against the cities of Mount Vernon and Burlington, Washington. Obtained successful judgment following a two-week bench trial. Wilbur v. City of Mount Vernon, 989 F. Supp. 2d 1122 (W.D. Wash. 2013)
  • Represented retailer and higher education policyholders pursuing property damage, business interruption loss, and pollution coverage as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Represented a large mining company seeking coverage under excess liability insurance policies for alleged property damage resulting from a blowout located in Colorado and caused by a third-party.
  • Represented a major former chemical company in several London-based arbitrations seeking coverage under Bermuda Form policies for claims of bodily injury and property damage allegedly arising from the use of, and exposure to, a chemical product that was historically used in electronic appliances and building materials. 
  • Represented a major agricultural company seeking coverage under Bermuda Form policies for claims of bodily injury allegedly arising from the use of, and exposure to, a popular herbicide product. 
  • Represented a major equipment manufacturer seeking builder’s risk coverage for damage to the world’s largest tunnel boring machine, known as “Bertha.”
  • Represented a federal company in a London-based arbitration seeking coverage from Bermuda-based excess liability insurers for costs associated with cleaning up the largest coal ash spill in U.S. history. 
  • Represented an automotive parts company seeking contingent business interruption from 14 insurers arising out of the March 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami. 
  • Represented a major coal producing company and its subsidiaries seeking coverage from its liability insurers for alleged bodily injury and property damage arising out of coal mining operations in hundreds of underlying actions.
