Case Study: Supreme Experience

For most lawyers, taking a case to the supreme court of the united states is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. the court only accepts about 75 cases each term, most of which are argued by the office of the solicitor general (on behalf of the united states government) or a small group of supreme court specialists who have significant experience clerking and practicing before the court. thus, it is a very rare opportunity for a general bankruptcy practitioner to present a case before the court. during the October 2011 term, both the RadLAX and hall cases presented such an opportunity.
