19th Annual Product Liability Workshop

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
Thursday, October 1, 2009 (8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

Workshop Content

Experience has taught us that few manufacturers have a comprehensive program to minimize their product liability exposure. Many employees do not understand the breadth and severity of product liability laws. They often receive no training to make them sensitive to the implications of what they write and say. Typically, they do not fully appreciate the legal consequences of their actions. This workshop is based on a case study that traces product problems from their beginnings and requires the workshop participants to decide, as the facts and events develop, what steps the company should take to protect itself from liability.

Who Should Attend?

Senior managers and employees whose jobs require them to make decisions that can get manufacturers into product liability trouble will benefit.  For example, those who make design decisions, those who draft instructions and warnings, and those who decide how to respond to product problems. The workshop is also intended for risk managers, in-house counsel and accident investigators.
