SEATTLE (May 6, 2019) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Partner Dan Bagatell has been elected to be a member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers at the Academy’s recent meeting.

Dan chairs the firm’s Federal Circuit patent appellate practice and focuses on appeals and critical motions in patent cases, intellectual property cases, and complex civil litigation more generally. He regularly briefs and argues cases in appellate courts around the country. Clients often enlist Dan to work on special projects such as amicus briefs, case analyses and white papers.

The American Academy of Appellate Lawyers was founded in 1990 to recognize outstanding appellate lawyers and promote the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts. Nominations to the organization can only be made by current fellows. Nominees are thoroughly vetted by the legal and judicial communities in a confidential process and must be elected to the fellowship by the board of directors. To be eligible for membership, a nominee’s practice must have focused substantially on appeals during at least the last 15 years. Academy membership is limited to 500 members in the United States.
