Firm Ranks First in Respondent Mentions and Ties for First in Overall Mentions
SEATTLE (June 25, 2013) – Perkins Coie topped two of the lists comprising Corporate Counsel’s annual International Trade Commission (ITC) rankings. Published in the July 2013 issue of Corporate Counsel Magazine, the lists rank law firms on their number of ITC cases. Perkins Coie ranked first in number of Respondent mentions and tied for first based on the total number of ITC mentions.
“We’ve definitely seen an uptick in our Section 337 cases this past year,” said John Schnurer, co-chair of the firm’s ITC Practice. “Many of our clients must successfully defend themselves at the ITC or face total exclusion from the U.S. market.”
Over the past year, the firm has represented a number of leading companies in matters before the ITC, including HTC, ASUS, Broadcom and Netflix. With the ITC becoming an increasingly popular venue for patent enforcement, U.S. patent holders need experienced legal advice to maneuver through the complexities of Section 337 cases. Perkins Coie ITC attorneys have the experience and resources to handle these actions in a wide range of technical fields, including semiconductors, electronics, networking equipment, pharmaceuticals, bioengineering and chemical sciences. In the last several years, we have gained significant experience in the intricacies of ITC law and procedure, including former ITC attorneys and partners who are regular players in this specialized arena. Our ITC practitioners, who include lawyers in Washington, D.C., and across the country, routinely represent both complainants and respondents.
