(June 26, 2017) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized as one of the top ten post-grant law firms in the nation by Lex Machina in its second annual review of Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings. The firm has been ranked among the top ten firms representing petitioners for three out of the past four years, as well as within the top ten firms representing patent owners for the first time in 2016. Of the law firms handling the most post-grant proceedings in 2016, Perkins Coie handled 38 as petitioner counsel and 37 on the patent owner side. To date, the firm has handled more than 250 post-grant proceedings, including more than 230 inter partes review (IPRs), for industry-leading clients.

The PTAB Report analyzes the behavior of the administrative body since it became active in September 2012. Combining views taken directly from Lex Machina’s Legal Analytics® platform, the report shows how analytics can give practitioners an edge over the competition. The report analyzes key findings including trial resolutions, technology center trials, administrative patent judges, timing, parties and other data used by many of the top intellectual property (IP) law firms in the United States in the business and practice of law.
