SEATTLE, Wash. (January 10, 2017) -- Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that David F. McShea, Perkins Coie Partner and Chair of its Executive Committee, is joining the Board of Advisors of the iinnovate Leadership Network, the first peer CEO network focused solely on the innovation economy. Mr. McShea joins other tech leaders in the Greater Seattle community, including Chris Ackerley, Artie Buerk, Vikram Jandhyala, Ralph Pascualy, Heather Redman, Michael Schutzler, and Karl Triebes, to help guide the growth of the company.
“I am excited to join the Board of Advisors of iinnovate because I believe it will play a vital role in the Greater Seattle technology ecosystem,” said Dave McShea. “CEOs of tech companies need a forum where they can share their best ideas, discuss their toughest challenges and percolate strategies on scaling successful, enduring companies. These types of organizations exist for start-ups, but are few and far between for entrepreneurs who face common issues related to leading and growing their businesses.”
iinnovate was founded in 2016 by R. Joe Ottinger to help Founders, CEOs, and Presidents of innovation economy companies scale their businesses. The idea for iinnovate came out of a study of the Puget Sound Tech Ecosystem that Ottinger led with students from University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.
“From the tech ecosystem study we conducted, I realized there were quite a few incubators, accelerators, Angel networks, and other organizations supporting start-up companies, but few addressing the unique challenges that CEOs, Presidents, and Founders of innovation economy companies face as they scale their companies,” says R. Joe Ottinger, founder of iinnovate Network. “With all of the successes that Greater Seattle has had growing its technology sector, less than 10% of its 14,000 technology companies have grown to more than 20 employees. There is an opportunity to help more tech companies successfully scale, which is the goal of iinnovate. I am excited to start iinnovate in the Greater Seattle area, and believe it can scale nationally and even globally,” added Ottinger.
To qualify for membership in iinnovate, individuals must be the CEO, founder, President or COO of a company whose products or services are enabled by technology, and that have raised enough money to operate and scale their companies. iinnovate helps members through a combination of professionally moderated forum groups of 10 to 12 entrepreneurs, professional iLeader facilitators, experts and peer learning, and a business support network.
Ottinger envisions the mission of iinnovate as improving companies, communities and lives through great leadership and innovation. He expects to continue to study and help build healthy innovation communities and ecosystems through iinnovate.
