SEATTLE, Wash.  (March 2, 2016) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that four Seattle-based partners have been appointed to leadership positions in the firm.  David McShea has been appointed as the Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee, succeeding Laura Neebling, a 26-year veteran of the firm who recently retired.  Katie O’Sullivan has been appointed to lead the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice in Seattle, which includes more than 70 lawyers.  Katie succeeds Seattle partner Tom Boeder, who had served in the role since 2004.  Colonel Betz has been named Chair of the firm’s Trust & Estate Planning practice, which includes 22 lawyers.  Colonel succeeds Seattle partner Janis Cunningham in the role.  Amy Tucker has been named Personnel Chair of the Trust & Estate Planning practice.

Dave has been with Perkins Coie for more than 22 years and a partner since 1999. He has over 20 years of experience representing high-growth technology companies, public companies and venture capital firms.  As the newly appointed Chair of the 15-member Executive Committee, the firm’s highest governing body, Dave will lead the committee in the performance of its strategic, policy-making and oversight functions, and coordinate closely with the firm’s Management Committee.

Katie joined Perkins Coie as a summer associate more than 20 years ago, and has been a partner since 2004.  She represents clients in a wide range of complex litigation in trial and appellate courts in a diverse array of industries, including aviation, banking, biotechnology, food, manufacturing, retail, software and telecommunications.  She has served on the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors and is a former chair of the Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct.

Colonel advises clients on a broad range of family office issues, estate planning strategies, estate and trust administration issues, probate, estate and trust dispute resolution matters and the preparation of gift and estate tax returns.  His practice includes planning for family offices, executives, business owners and multigenerational families, as well as philanthropic planning.

Amy focuses her practice on estate planning and probate administration.  Her practice includes tax-efficient planning for individuals and families, fiduciary representation, estate and trust administration, prenuptial planning, and nonjudicial trust and estate dispute resolutions.
