SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (August 5, 2015) - The San Francisco office of Perkins Coie has moved to new, expanded quarters at 505 Howard Street, taking the top floors of the Foundry III building in the fast-growing South of Market district.  The new offices are designed to enhance collaboration and client service, including a state-of-the-art conference center, informal gathering areas, several open floor plan shared work spaces, and an outdoor deck.  Perkins Coie has 100 professionals (attorneys and staff) in San Francisco.

The need for larger space reflects the strong growth of Perkins Coie in the Bay Area,” said Barbara Schussman, Managing Partner of Perkins Coie’s San Francisco office.  “From 2013 to 2014, we grew about 17 percent attracting top laterals in all practice areas.  We are delighted to move into a new LEED Gold building in a prime location in San Francisco, and to provide our clients and employees with innovative state-of-the art facilities.”

Located at the intersection of First and Howard Streets, the 10-story Foundry III occupies a central position in San Francisco’s South Financial District.  Sustainable design features are integrated into the space to enhance energy efficiency while ensuring a safer, healthier work environment.  The building features floor to ceiling living walls in the ground floor lobby, housing 12,500 plants.

Perkins Coie’s space, located on the top three floors of Foundry III, is planned for LEED Gold certification.  Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices.  To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification.

Among the features of Perkins Coie’s innovative workspace are:

  • A welcoming lobby that boasts a glass walled conference room that slides open to significantly enlarge the space for events
  • Technologically savvy multi-use rooms for client meetings and attorney-team interaction
  • A large executive board room with an expansive table made from reclaimed elm from the campus of San Jose State University
  • Comfortably appointed coffee lounges on each floor, with couches and chairs for informal meetings and impromptu discussions
  • Offices with glass walls that allow natural light to illuminate interior hallways and spaces
  • An ample outdoor deck with raised grass and rock gardens
  • Three open floor plan shared work spaces
  • Uniformly sized offices for all attorneys
