SEATTLE, Wash. (January 2, 2018) – Perkins Coie has announced that five attorneys have been promoted to Senior Counsel, effective January 1, 2018. Senior Counsel have at least eight years of experience, are recognized for delivering high quality legal work, have the ability to supervise junior lawyers and staff and collaborate with partners on the strategy, development and management of client matters.

The Perkins Coie 2018 Senior Counsel class includes:

  • Bryan S. Banks (Phoenix)
  • Gregory L.P. Ostrander (Chicago)
  • Jill L. Ripke (Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco)
  • Jeffrey D. Vanacore (New York)

Bryan S. Banks (Phoenix) is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. His practice focuses on patent and trade secret litigation and counseling in matters involving complex technologies such as personal computer and mobile handset hardware and software, signal processing, wired and wireless networking, and computer-aided manufacturing. Bryan has successfully represented clients in numerous federal district courts, in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and before the International Trade Commission.

Gregory L.P. Ostrander (Chicago) is a member of the firm’s Corporate Law practice. Greg advises corporate and private equity clients in a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset purchases and sales, joint ventures, financing transactions on both the lender side and the borrower side, and the formation of private equity, debt and real estate funds. He counsels numerous private companies on complex limited liability company operating agreements and formation issues. Greg’s transactional experience encompasses a number of industries and market segments, including restaurant, education, real estate, manufacturing and agriculture.

Jill L. Ripke (Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco) is member of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice. Jill counsels companies in employment and independent contractor class action matters dealing with claims relating to independent contractor status, misclassification, unpaid overtime, unpaid meal and rest breaks and unpaid off-the-clock work. She advises clients regarding independent contractor agreements and litigates misappropriation of trade secrets, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination claims.

Jeffrey D. Vanacore (New York) is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice. Jeff represents clients in litigation issues (in both federal and state courts) and complex financial restructuring matters and has argued bankruptcy appeals. Jeff is well versed in intellectual property matters and is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has litigated numerous intellectual property matters in both bankruptcy and district courts. Jeff is a certified public accountant (Illinois) and a former enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service.
