PHOENIX, Ariz. (February 5, 2018) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Jessica Everett-Garcia has been named Managing Partner of the firm’s Phoenix office. Jessica succeeds Shane Swindle, who had served in the role since 2013.

“Jessica is an exceptional attorney who is a trusted advisor to her clients and demonstrates sound judgment in complex business matters,” said John Devaney, Perkins Coie Firmwide Managing Partner. “Her track record on several committee leadership roles indicates that she will be an excellent successor to Shane. I’m confident the Phoenix office will continue to thrive with Jessica at the helm.”

As a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice, Jessica has over 20 years of experience representing a wide variety of clients in business litigation matters, with particular emphasis on contract claims, trade secret disputes, class action defense and business torts, including negligence, fraud and fiduciary duty claims. Her experience extends to state and federal court matters, jury and non-jury trials, appeals, arbitrations and government investigations. Jessica also often represents foreign companies in contract and business tort litigation brought in U.S. courts and arbitration proceedings.

In addition to her practice, Jessica has also served in several management positions within the firm, including roles on the Partner Compensation Committee, the Associate & Counsel Evaluation Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee and the Strategic Diversity Committee. She also served as a leader of Perkins Coie’s Women’s Forum for six years, including three years as firmwide co-chair.

Jessica is actively engaged in the greater Phoenix community, having served on the State Bar’s Committee on Minorities and Women in the Law, volunteering time to the State Bar Leadership Institute and the Arizona Town Hall and having held positions on the boards of various nonprofit organizations in the Phoenix region.

The firm’s Phoenix office includes approximately 65 lawyers who handle a full range of commercial litigation (including patent and other intellectual property disputes, business torts, contracts, antitrust, product liability, corporate governance, securities and professional liability), as well as bankruptcy and white collar criminal defense matters.
