DALLAS, Tex. (December 19, 2016) – Perkins Coie announced today that Bobby Majumder will become Managing Partner of the firm’s Dallas office, effective January 1, 2017. Bobby succeeds Steve Smith, who has served in that role since the office opened in 2010.

“Bobby has an impressive track record and has distinguished himself as a strong presence in the Dallas market,” said John Devaney, Perkins Coie’s Firmwide Managing Partner. “Bobby’s deep roots in the Dallas area, combined with his experience and industry knowledge, make him an ideal choice to lead the office and further grow our relationships with many great clients in Dallas.”

Bobby is a partner in the firm’s Corporate practice. His practice includes advising companies on capital markets transactions in the U.S. and Europe as well as domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions across several industries including energy, mining, healthcare, information technology and telecommunications. Bobby also counsels companies on their reporting and compliance requirements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He also co-chairs the firm’s India practice.

Bobby’s professional recognition includes being named one of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” by D Magazine four of the past six years and as a “Texas Super Lawyer” in Law & Politics Magazine the past three years. Bobby is active in the Dallas community as an Associates Board member of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University; Charter Member, Dallas chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs; member of the Rotary Club of Park Cities and Advisory Board Member of the 2016 Cattle Baron’s Ball. He earned his J.D. from the Washington and Lee University School of Law and received his B.A. from Trinity University.
