Press Releases

SEATTLE, Wash. (June 22, 2015) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that 30 of the firm’s intellectual property attorneys were recognized by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) in the IAM Strategy 300 and IAM Patent 1000 lists. The IAM Strategy 300 – The World’s Leading IP Strategists, recognizes global legal and business professionals who have established track records in creating world-class IP value. The IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals, recognizes practice patent professionals who are the best in class in patent prosecution, licensing and litigation. The firm also placed in several national and regional categories.

New York’s John Squires and Seattle’s Stacey Ravetta were named to IAM Strategy 300 list, recognizing the world’s leading IP strategists and thought leaders. John has been globally ranked as top strategist since the list’s inception in 2007; this is Stacey’s first appearance.

“It is an honor to be named an IAM 300 top strategist,” said Stacey, “because it is a recognition that our firm’s strategy in deploying cross-functional technical and legal teams in our Patent Analytics, Strategy & Solutions and IPR groups, where it matters most for our clients, works.”

“Receiving the IAM 300 recognition is very rewarding,” John said, “and speaks to the growing marketplace recognition of IP as an asset per se.”

Perkins Coie is one of only a very limited number of law firms having more than one honoree on the IAM Strategy list.

Earlier this year, IAM and Ocean Tomo ranked Perkins Coie #4 Overall among U.S. law firms for Patent Quality in 2015 for preparing and prosecuting the highest quality patents. This is the sixth consecutive year Perkins Coie has been ranked in the Top 10 Law Firms.

In this year’s IAM 1000 Top Patent Practitioner list, both the firm’s national and local strengths were recognized as top lawyers were named in patent prosecution, litigation and IPRs, and transactions.
