The Seattle office of Perkins Coie has an immediate opening for a Legal Practice Assistant to support our Employee Benefits & Executive Comp, Federal, State and Local Tax, International and Technology Transactions & Privacy Law practice groups. This position will provide administrative support with moderate supervision, to designated attorneys, paralegals, other legal practice assistants.
Responsibilities include preparing documents for state and federal court filings (including state and federal appeals courts), letters, and other documents; setting up and maintaining case files; scheduling and travel coordination; and, assist with time entry and prebill review.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to accurately type 65 wpm, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish effective working relationships throughout operational groups. They must possess strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style, as well as strong knowledge of MS Word, Outlook and Excel, and familiarity with basic office equipment. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workload, compose correspondence, and a thorough understanding of pertinent legal terminology and procedures are also required.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as five or more years of business experience in a law firm environment.
