Accounts Payable Assistant

Accounts Payable Assistant will be a part of the Accounts Payable unit that is responsible for all outgoing monies generated from AP throughout the firm. This includes, but is not limited to, other basic duties associated with Accounts Payable and cash disbursements.
Primary job responsibilities may include:
- Perform weekly checks runs
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments via online banking
- Maintain vendor information, including W-9's, as needed
- Handle Positive Pay
- Monitors and distributes department mail
- Process credit applications as needed
- Maintains AP Department document storage, filing systems, and off-site retrievals
- Research, track, and resolve client disbursement inquiries
- Support accounts payable personnel, including but not limited to prepping invoices for data entry
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles and experience as accounts payable clerk. A proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records. As well as, data entry skills and hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software. The candidate must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Customer service skills are a plus. The candidate must be proficient in MS Office applications.
This position requires a high school diploma and one to two years of related accounting/clerical experience or equivalent. AA degree preferred.
