Ted Chung Quoted in Business Insurance on the General Re Corp. Portfolio Reinsurance Trial

Perkins Coie Partner Ted Chung commented, in two recent Business Insurance articles, on the trial of five former General Re Corp. executives for the fraud of a $500 million reinsurance deal. In the trial, prosecutors must present a single coherent theory in making their case, said Chung in the article “Testimony Begins in Gen Re Finite Trial,” but the defense may offer a variety of competing theories that may be plausible enough for reasonable doubt. The multiple defenses, Chang said in the subsequent article “Credibility of Witness Attacked by Defense,” “…[are] not necessarily a problem as long as the individual defenses are not completely incompatible with each other.”
