Sue J. Stott joins Perkins Coie Labor and Employment Practice

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (May 15, 2009) – Perkins Coie is pleased to announce Sue J. Stott has joined the firm’s Labor & Employment practice as a partner. She will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
Stott counsels California employers on litigation avoidance and legal compliance regarding recruiting and hiring; discipline and discharge; leave administration including disability accommodation; discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful discharge claims; wage and hour, independent contractor, classification, and other compensation issues; reductions in force and work force restructurings; investigations; and human resource best practices. Stott also defends employers in single and multi-plaintiff, multidistrict, and class action lawsuits. She has conducted jury and bench trials in state and federal courts and defended charges and claims brought by, and pending before state and federal agencies.
Stott is a certified mediator. She mediates and arbitrates business, personal injury, and employment disputes in state and federal court, and participates on the San Francisco Federal District Court's panel of neutrals.

Stott earned her law degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law. She earned her B.A. from Stanford University.
