A seasoned litigator, Sunita represents technology, food, and retail clients in consumer class-action disputes and other complex commercial cases.

Sunita Bali litigates cases in California state and federal courts, defending companies against claims brought under California’s Unfair Competition Law and False Advertising Law. She also has experience handling breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference, invasion of privacy, trade secret misappropriation, and copyright infringement claims. She has managed all civil litigation aspects, including dispositive motion practice, discovery, opposing motions for class certification, dispute resolution, and trial preparation.

In addition to litigation, Sunita advises internet and telecommunication service providers on compliance with federal and state laws involving the privacy of user information, including the Stored Communications Act. She helps these clients respond to subpoenas, court orders, search warrants, and other requests for user information, as well as related motion practice.

Committed to pro bono work, Sunita has represented a Fijian refugee in a merits hearing in Immigration Court, in which her client sought relief under the Convention Against Torture. She also represented a nonprofit organization in filing an amicus brief addressing privacy issues in the California Supreme Court.
