Sam Thumma Elected to Red Cross Position

PHOENIX (June 1, 2005) – Perkins Coie announced today that Sam Thumma, along with nine others from across the United States, has been elected as a member of the National Committee on Resolutions for the American Red Cross. Thumma's term will begin July 1, 2005, and he will serve on the Committee for the 2006 and 2007 National Conventions. Thumma, a partner in Perkins Coie's national Commercial Litigation practice group, works in the firm's Phoenix office.
The purpose of the Committee is to review and recommend dispositions of resolutions submitted by chartered units. The Committee has 21 members, including the Chair and Vice Chair. Ten members are recommended by chartered units through the national nominations process annually. Members of the Committee are elected by the voting delegates at the National Convention. Key responsibilities are to review proposed resolutions regarding significant corporate policy issues submitted by chartered units, to assimilate information regarding the resolutions and to make recommendations for disposition of the proposed resolutions.
Thumma also serves on the Western Service Area Resource Council for the American Red Cross and chairs the Volunteer & Employee Leadership Development Committee for the Western Service Area.
