Rajiv Sarathy is a patent attorney who applies his 13 years of software industry experience—including 9 years as a software development engineer and manager at Microsoft Corporation—and his MBA education to counsel companies on intellectual property (IP) matters in the United States, Canada, India, and in other countries. Rajiv focuses his practice on patent procurement, infringement and validity analysis, licensing, IP counseling, and IP dispute management.

Rajiv has prosecuted patents in many computer hardware and software technology areas including: Internet, business models, applications, compilers, operating systems, security, image processing, hardware and financial. Additionally, he has experience with strategic planning for patent portfolios, preparation of patent invalidity and noninfringement opinions, and due diligence of patent portfolios.

Rajiv was born in New Delhi, India, and grew up in Toronto, Canada. He enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, capturing his travels in photographs, playing golf, and flying small airplanes.
