Rosewood Deal Named M&A of the Year by ALIS

Perkins Coie attorneys Phillip Gordon, Alexandra Cole, Ed Wicks, Jaclyn McNally and Suleen Lee represented the owners in the sale of Dallas-based Rosewood Hotels & Resorts LLC hotel management company and five North American properties under Rosewood management for $800 million to China-based New World Hospitality and individual investors.

This transaction claimed the “Merger & Acquisition of the Year 2011” award at the 2012 Americas Lodging Investment Summit on January 24, 2012.

Properties sold in the transaction included the Carlyle Hotel in New York, the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands, the Rosewood Crescent Hotel and the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, both in Dallas, Texas. The Perkins team had acquired all of these assets from the various owners in transactions dating back to 1997.
