Overview

Ramsey Al-Salam has spent more than 35 years focusing on intellectual property (IP) and technology-related disputes, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation. He has served as lead and trial counsel in cases involving a wide variety of technologies and has particularly strong experience with computer, networking, and internet-related technology.

Drawing on his academic training and teaching experience, Ramsey enjoys conveying in understandable terms the science and technical issues that underly his cases. He represents high-profile clients in the technology sector, as well as smaller entities, and prioritizes understanding his clients’ businesses and their goals to ensure that he resolves issues effectively and efficiently.

Regularly acknowledged as one of the leading lawyers in his field, he was praised by clients as a "top-notch litigator" and an "excellent lawyer" in Chambers USA, which consistently lists him in “Band One” of IP litigators. He has also been listed repeatedly in Washington Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. The latter named him Seattle Intellectual Property Litigator of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and Seattle Patent Litigator of the Year in 2014, 2019, and 2024.

In addition to his litigation work, Ramsey is a frequent speaker on IP and litigation topics, and he has taught patent law at Seattle University Law School for more than 20 years.
