Phoenix Office Attains Litigation Victory for PricewaterhouseCoopers
General News
06.15.2007
The Phoenix office has represented PricewaterhouseCoopers and two PwC accountants in long running litigation in the Arizona State Board of Accountancy relating to the 1994 Audit of California Microdevices. In 2005, Michael Clyde, Jessica Everett Garcia, paralegal Kristi Slenker and two lawyers from the Los Angeles office of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP represented the PwC respondents in a two week trial, which resulted in a favorable decision by an administrative law judge.
In 2006, the State Board vacated the ALJ’s conclusions, substantially altered his findings and suspended the two accountants’ licenses. Yesterday, the Maricopa County Superior Court vacated the Board’s decision and reinstated the ALJ’s findings and conclusions, holding the Board’s decision was “arbitrary and capricious, and was a violation of the [accountants’] due process rights.”
