Perkins' Shanghai Office Adds New Attorneys

Shanghai (August 4, 2010) – Perkins Coie is pleased to welcome Bing Zhou and Yanchen Shi. Both are consultants who will be based in the firm's Shanghai office.
The firm's two Chinese offices continue their focus on intellectual property protection and enforcement with an emphasis in the life sciences and semiconductor industries. Last year, the firm added Aaron Wininger, Michael House and Ananda Martin to the China practice.
Aaron Wininger’s practice focuses on intellectual property protection and enforcement in the semiconductor industry. Michael House’s practice focuses on anti-dumping cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission. Ananda Martin’s practice focuses on corporate matters with an emphasis on emerging companies.
Mr. Zhou and Mr. Shi join China Practice Group Partners Michael Wise and Aaron Wininger, China Practice Group associate Yingli Wang, patent engineer, Xian (Katherine) Xiong, consultant Qi (Ada) Tong, and paralegal, Ying (Jenny) Lu.

Bing Zhou has drafted more than 200 patent applications in areas of chemistry and pharmacy since June 2002 and has also handled more than 50 office action responses per year. Mr. Zhou earned his Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from Fudan University, School of Pharmacy and is working towards his LLM from the Renmin University of China, School of Law. He passed the China Patent Bar Exam in 2009.
Yanchen Shi joins the firm from King & Wood PRC Lawyers in their Shanghai office. He has drafted hundreds of new Chinese applications and PCT applications for multinational and domestic companies. Mr. Shi graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a B.E. in Electrical Engineering. He is working towards his LLM from the Renmin University of China. He passed the China Patent Bar Exam in 2009.
