Perkins Coie "Three-Peats" on FORTUNE's List of The 100 Best Companies to Work For

SEATTLE (January 10, 2005) – For the third year in a row, Perkins Coie LLP has been named one of the nation's 100 best companies to work for by FORTUNE magazine. It is one of only five law firms nationwide to make the list. The firm was ranked #47 overall, up from #87 a year ago.

"The only thing better than a repeat is a three-peat," said Managing Partner Robert E. Giles, "and to jump 40 places in one year is really gratifying. We stress the importance of a collegial culture and it really helps us attract great talent and serve our clients effectively."

The firm's culture was a critical selling point for Brown & Bain, a Phoenix-based firm with a national reputation in litigation that combined with Perkins Coie on July 1, 2004.

"The 100 Best Companies to Work For" list is compiled for FORTUNE by Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz of the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco, based on two criteria: an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company’s employees. The latter is given more weight; two-thirds of the total score comes from employee responses to a 57-question survey which goes to a minimum of 350 randomly selected employees from each company.
